Entrelac Bag

One day, I really will finish this bag. It was not a great choice for a second knitting project. I have finished a baby blanket and a bottle cozy since starting this project.
I have decided that it is best continued under the careful supervision of Mom after she had to rip out a good chunk of it over the summer. So, in my living room this project sits until Mom has time for some more Knit 'n' B*tch sessions. Thank goodness for the cooler weather moving in. That will allow for much more time for knitting. And that is the only reason I'm happy about the cooler weather.

I really do enjoy knitting even though I don't make much time for it. I guess I just have to many interests and not enough time. Story of my life, I say.

Things that annoy me and a Book reccomendation

-unloading the dishwasher
-spastic, unfocused teachers
-not having enough time to surf the Internet and get the housework done
-being sick
-housework
-stupid people

okay, sorry for the rant..I feel better now.

If your looking for a good book, I highly recommend Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I'm a bit more than halfway through with it and I love it! Well written, in a tone that I can appreciate. I've only been reading it for a few days and already I'm 200+ pages into it. (and really, I only read while I'm at work when my student is working for an hour and a half in the afternoon.) I'm afraid I'll be sad when I'm through with it because I enjoy it so much.

If you have a good book, please recommend it. I'm always looking for a good book to read at work.

Cards, Cards and more Cards!

It's that time of year again...wedding and graduation party season. I've made a few handmade cards this past year. So, as the graduation invites started pouring in, I got motivated and decided instead of buying cards, I'd make them with all the supplies I already have at home. After I finished, I was rather proud of these cards and thought I'd show them off. I hope you enjoy!
The Graduation Cards were all made from Hot Hues Cards found on clearance at Target and have matching envelopes. I used stickers, the graduation hat rubber stamp from Michael's dollar bin and my own hadn lettering. Inside they read "Congratuations, Graduate! Good luck on all your future endeavors!"
The wedding card is for a wedding we will be attending this weekend. Again I used rubber stamps from Michael's Doallar Bin. Their names and initial on the front is from their invitation and matted on paper that matches. I used a hand held punch to make the heart confetti which I sprinkled inside and used as an accent on the envelope and front of the card. I didn't have a stamp ink that would match, so I only stamped the words Happily Ever After and used a heart punch instead of the heart on the stamp. I printed the inside poem on my computer with matching ink and again matted on matching paper. I also embellished the stamped chapel with glitter for a little sparkle.
Maybe this will provide you with a bit of inspiration.

Try again...

I thought maybe I'd give blogging a try again. I have enjoyed reading some other people's blogs and then remembered, "Hey, I started my own blog once."

So, here I am again...

I have to say this weekend has been interesting so far. Last night I got phone calls from two people whom I've not heard from in quite some time and we had some great conversation. I also recently got a letter from a friend who I'd considered long-lost. It makes me wonder if there isn't something going on cosmically that I am to reconnect with my friends over the past week.

I have to say, all the emails and phone calls have been great! I am quite pleased to be reconnecting!

Jason will be home soon so we can go to dinner, but I thought I'd get that out. And if your reding this and I havne't heard from you in a while, please email or comment!

Oh, and a recent picture of Abbie...She's all grown up!
